The Ice Age Center is a unique experiential center in the whole Baltic region – here you can meet life-sized prehistoric animals and experience an engaging overview of how the world and Estonia's nature have evolved over millennia.
Is a mammoth a furry elephant? When did human settlement begin in Estonia? How does the coastline change over time? Is the climate warming up or cooling down instead? You will learn about the formation story of our universe and what awaits us in the future!
The exhibition at the Ice Age Center offers visitors an overview of the causes of the Ice Age and its impact on the Earth, Estonia, and Vooremaa, introduces the development story of Estonia's nature and human settlement after the last ice age, as well as the causes of climate change and its research.
The center is located in Tartumaa on the shores of Saadjärv, right in the heart of Vooremaa, known for its Ice Age and Kalevipoeg legends. If you are looking for an exciting place to go with kids or family in Tartumaa, then the Ice Age Center is waiting for you! They also offer the possibility to organize conferences, birthday parties, and other special events in their facilities.
