SUMMER START FESTIVAL 2026

The biggest opening event of South Estonia's summer is here again! SUMMER START FESTIVAL returns to its roots – to Tartu, where it all began in 2023. It is a day and night full of music, buzz, family events and a grand stage show that brings different generations together at Tartu Song Festival Grounds.
The festival day kicks off with a free family summer fair “Tere Perepäev 2026”, which fills the Song Festival Grounds area with children's attractions, trampolines, craft makers, tasty experiences, an open stage program and a surprise-filled fair lottery. There is something to do for both young and old – it is a true summer opening celebration for the whole family.
The evening culminates in a powerful festival program on the big stage, featuring:
TERMINAATOR – a band with the status of an Estonian rock legend, whose hits „Juulikuu lumi“, „Carmen“, „Ajateenija“, „Romula“ and many others have accompanied several generations.
DJ SASH! – an international icon of 90s and 2000s dance music from Germany. „Encore Une Fois“, „Ecuador“, „Stay“, „Mysterious Times“ – true club classics will take over Tartu Song Festival Grounds!
ITALOBROTHERS – “20 Years” – an energetic electronic dance music duo from Germany, whose „Stamp on the Ground“ and „Summer Air“ have gathered hundreds of millions of streams.
HELLAD VELLED – the gold standard of Estonian party bands, whose songs „Mulle Meeldib“, „18“, „London“ and „Sauna“ guarantee a real party mood.
SLÄM – 20 aastat – an energetic girl band celebrating its anniversary in 2026 and bringing hits „Mul on Jumala Poxxx“, „Sul on Kõige Kaunim Kann“, „Poogen“ and much more to the stage.
The evening will be hosted by Ahto Kalda. Expect a big stage, LED screens, live fire and a powerful production that will turn the start of summer into a true festival experience.
