The renewed PROTO Discovery Factory is waiting to be explored!
PROTO Discovery Factory has undergone the biggest renovation in its history, and from May 5th a completely new second floor awaits visitors, where the line between science, technology and fantasy disappears. If you have visited PROTO before, now is the perfect time to come back – new exhibits, new experiences and even more joy of discovery await!
PROTO is Europe’s first educational virtual reality-based discovery center, where inventions from centuries ago come to life thanks to modern technology. Here, exhibits are not viewed from a distance – everything is designed so that you can try, discover and experience things yourself. In PROTO there are no signs saying "Please do not touch" – here, hands-on interaction is not only allowed, it is mandatory.
In the renewed exhibition, you can guide laser beams through a mirror maze, set a steam locomotive model in motion, discover the invisible world with a microscope, test optical illusions and see how science becomes playful and exciting. In addition, visitors are welcomed by a completely new 5D cinema "Journey to the Center of the Earth", where virtual reality, moving cinema seats and special effects take you on an adventure deep into the Earth’s core. The 5D cinema is included in the PROTO admission ticket price.
Virtual reality experiences take you to an era when inventions that changed the world were just being born. With VR glasses, you can move 360 degrees in a completely new world and experience inventions in a way that would not be possible in everyday life.
PROTO is perfect for the whole family – there is plenty of joy of discovery for both little explorers and big tech enthusiasts. Younger visitors are welcomed by a separate children's area, where they can build, experiment, play with air cannons and discover the world through smart and educational activities.
In addition, PROTO offers opportunities to organize various events in the historic Noblessner foundry, and the entire center is designed so that visitors with special needs can also enjoy the joy of discovery.
