Glass Studio Workshop „Wine Friends“

In the workshop, you will create a unique wine bottle cork and a sandblasted wine glass.

To make the wine bottle cork, you will melt colorful glass beads in an open flame, which we will push onto the stem of the metal wine cork blank. In the flame, you will melt colored glass rods and shape them into small beads, cones, and other forms. You can see how it works in the video below.

You will engrave a beautiful design on the wine glass with a sandblaster, and if desired, add details with a hand engraver. A special tape will help you cut out shapes with either wire or pattern rods, which you will stick onto the glass. The glass not covered by the tape will turn milky white during the sandblasting, while the part under the tape will remain clear and transparent.

You can take the glass home with you right away and start enjoying your wine from it. The glass beads, however, will stay with us to cool until the next day, and you can pick them up already attached to the cork at the studio.
