Additional Information
Floating is an opportunity to take a break and find a few minutes for yourself. It allows you to step momentarily from the external world into your inner world, open the door to good ideas and creativity, shake off the foreign and find yourself.
The name floating is an alternative name for the scientific term REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique).
It is a soothing bath in which a person lies on their back in a chamber filled with 30% saline water – it is dark, quiet, and the temperature is about 35°C, and since the boundary between air and water disappears, one can completely relax undisturbed and peacefully.
Floating has several beneficial properties that have been revealed through scientific research:
- Increased well-being and relaxation
- Reduced muscle tension
- Improved sleep
- Increased creativity
- Reduced headaches
- Reduced stress, tension, and anxiety
- Lowered blood pressure
- Relief from jet lag
- Suitable complement to psychotherapy
- Aids patients with spinal or neck injuries
